Mexico has elected its first female president


Claudia Sheinbaum was declared the winner of the presidential elections held in Mexico. According to "Armenpress", this was reported by the Reuters agency, citing preliminary data published by the National Electoral Institute. Sheinbaum became the first woman to head the government of Mexico. He represented the ruling "Morena" left party in the country.  She was contested by another female candidate, Sochitl Galvez, from a coalition of opposition parties. CNN reports that this election has become the largest in the history of Mexico. More than 98 million voters were registered to participate in the general elections. In addition to the president, Mexicans also elected 20,000 officials. These elections were characterized by a high level of violence. Dozens of political candidates and applicants were killed by criminal organizations.
