According to the report of the Spanish newspaper Diario AS, Real Madrid has sent an extensive report to UEFA, demanding to severely punish Catalan "Barcelona" in connection with the scandalous case of Jose Maria Enriquez Negreira, the former vice president of the Technical Committee of Spanish referees.
The demands of the Madrid club and its president Florentino Perez are as follows:
1. Remove "Barcelona" from the European Cups.
2. Strip the club of the 23 titles they won between 2001 and 2018.
In Madrid, they are sure that the money transferred to Negreira by the Catalan club through intermediary companies in the mentioned years was aimed at influencing the referees' decisions. Meanwhile, "Barcelona" clarified earlier that the payments were made exclusively for the purpose of receiving analytical reports on refereeing.
According to the source, UEFA will make its final decision only after the legal proceedings in this case are fully completed. At the same time, it is emphasized that the highest structure of European football is unlikely to take such an extreme step and meet the tough demands of "Real".
Let's remind that currently "Barcelona" is the current champion of Spanish football, and "Real Madrid" took second place in La Liga according to the results of the 2025/2026 season.
