Internationally recognized cultural figure, philanthropist, and businessman Konstantin Ishkhanov has been awarded the Medal of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sport of the Republic of Armenia for his significant contribution to the field of music, strengthening international cultural cooperation, as well as on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra. Konstantin Ishkhanov’s work has had a lasting impact on the international recognition and dissemination of Armenian classical music.
Thanks to his consistent support, numerous cultural initiatives have been realized, among which the “Armenia” International Music Festival holds a special place, gaining wide international recognition through its participation and artistic standards. In 2018, on Ishkhanov’s initiative, the Days of Armenian Culture held in Malta became an important milestone in the international presentation of Armenian art and the deepening of bilateral cultural relations.
The Armenian State Symphony Orchestra has also participated in prestigious international competitions organized under his leadership, under the direction of Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Sergey Smbatyan. Ishkhanov’s activity combines cultural strategy, international partnership thinking, and dedication to the arts, contributing to the development of the contemporary cultural environment.
He is the founder and president of numerous international festivals, competitions, and academies, and his influence on the global dissemination of classical music is significant. In 2019, Konstantin Ishkhanov became the first non-Maltese cultural figure to be awarded Malta’s highest cultural honor for his exceptional contribution to the country’s cultural life.
