"Hraparak" wrote at the beginning of the year that the preventive administrative control and absence ban of the former Prime Minister of Armenia Hovik Abrahamyan was changed by the end of 2025 with a bail of 20 million drams.
However, the prosecutor's office is not at peace with this change in the restraining order. we learned that after receiving a rejection from the appellant, the chief prosecutor Anna Vardapetyan appealed to the court of cassation to cancel the bail application of the former prime minister.
He demands from the cassation court to annul the bail and establish administrative control and ban on absenteeism. The goal is to ban Abrahamyan from leaving RA. Hovik Abrahamyan, let's remind, is accused of money laundering, abuse of official powers and illegal participation in business activities.
The case was initiated in 2018, it entered the court only 7 years later.
In fact, Abrahamyan has been in the accused's chair for 7 years. The state has also submitted a lawsuit to the Anti-Corruption Civil Court, demanding from Abrahamyan and his related persons to confiscate property of alleged illegal origin in favor of Armenia.
Among the defendants are even the former prime minister's driver and bodyguard, in whose name the prosecutor's office considers that the property belongs to the former prime minister, so it demands the return of 59 immovable properties to the state, 15 of which are in Yerevan.
In addition, they demand 20 cars, participations and shares in 20 companies, as well as 55 million dollars. The case has been under investigation since 2023.
