It may take up to 10 years to restore damaged infrastructure after a flood in Dagestan. This assessment was given by hydrological engineer Nikita Maksakov, Mash reports. According to the expert, the amount of damage even exceeds the consequences of the flood recorded in the Urals in 2024, and it is not possible to fully assess the damage done so far. The situation was also complicated by anomalous snow, which fell in the region for the first time in the last 30 years, leading to the collapse of the Gejukh Reservoir. The flood caused by heavy rains became the worst in more than 100 years, affecting more than 15,000 people and killing six.
