1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the 10th World Youth Wushu Championships


The team of the traditional wushu federation of Armenia won 1 silver and 3 bronze medals at the 10th World Youth Wushu Championship held in Tianjin, China.

According to the information of the Ministry of Education and Culture, the representative of Armenia Karen Sahakyan won the title of vice-champion in the youth age group of the Sanda competition in the 52 kg weight category, becoming a silver medalist. Ruben Melkonyan (56 kg) and Tigran Tovmasyan (75 kg) won bronze medals.

In the youth age group, Grisha Alikhanyan won a bronze medal in the 45 kg weight category.

Siranush Avagyan performed Taijiquan and Taijishan in Taolu competition, fighting for a ticket to the Youth Olympic Games.

The head of the team, Aram Aydinyan, who is also a referee of international class in the field of taoulu, acted in the refereeing team of the championship.

Gevorg Alikhanyan, the head coach of the youth sanda team, and Artashes Avagyan, the head coach of the Taoulu team, also went to the competition.
