On the third competition day of the 25th Winter Olympic Games in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, the first representative of the Armenian Olympic team, skier Katya Galstyan, entered the competition.
For the 33-year-old experienced athlete, who also participated in the Games of 2014, 2018 and 2022, this is the fourth Olympics of her career. Galstyan started in the women's skiathlon competition, which covers a total distance of 20 km (10 km classic and 10 km freestyle).
The race had a rather difficult course for the participants. a total of 19 skiers failed to cross the finish line. Unfortunately, the representative of Armenia was also among them. Galstyan overcame the first 10 km segment planned in the classical style, but was out of the competition in the freestyle competition and did not finish the competition.
The trio of prizes The heroes of the day became the representatives of the Scandinavian countries.
