Kobakhidze stated that Georgia held legitimate parliamentary elections

Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the parliamentary elections held on October 26 were "clean" and the authorities are ready to provide everyone with evidence confirming this, he said on the air of "Imedi" TV.

"Everyone should come to terms with the fact that Georgia is an independent state and the adopted laws apply there.

We are completely open to everyone who wants to make sure of the clean elections we have held," said Kobakhidze.

He also noted that the preliminary conclusion of the OSCE/ODIHR (Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights) observation mission regarding the elections in Georgia is generally positive.

"There are many statements related to the conclusion of the OSCE/ODIHR, both here and abroad, that the mission did not call our elections fair and free, but the reports of this organization do not use such terminology.

The important thing is that the conclusion of the OSCE/ODIHR mission is generally positive. At the press conference, the international observers spoke directly about the legitimacy of the elections," said Kobakhidze.
