Manuel Petrosyan and Anahit Mkrtchyan, champions of the Armenian Chess Championship


The 86th men's and 81st women's chess championships of Armenia have ended at Tigran Petrosyan Chess House-Sports School.

Grandmaster Manuel Petrosyan won the title of champion in the men's fight for the second time in his career. He scored 6 points out of 9 possible.

Artur Davtyan, Zaven Andriasyan and Aram Hakobyan scored 5.5 points. International master Artur Davtyan became the silver medalist with additional indicators. Grandmaster Zaven Andriasyan completed the top three.

Anahit Mkrtchyan was awarded the title of winner of the women's championship, scoring 6.5 points out of 9 possible.

Women's FIDE master Astghik Hakobyan became the silver medalist with 6 points. Sona Krkyasharyan, Ani Avetisyan and Anna Khachatryan scored 5.5 points. Sona Krkyasharyan finished the top three with additional indicators.

Manuel Petrosyan and Anahit Mkrtchyan received the right to play in the Armenian national team.
