In the main fight of UFC 323 held in Las Vegas, USA, Petr Yan, ranked third in the lightweight category (up to 61 kg), defeated the Georgian champion of the same weight category, Merab Dvalishvili, in a 5-round fight.

Dvalishvili and Ian have met before. Their first fight took place on March 11, 2023 in Las Vegas. The Georgian boxer won by unanimous decision.

Ian is 32 years old. He currently has 20 wins (seven by knockout) and five losses. Since 2020, Ian has held the UFC lightweight title, but in March 2021, he lost it to American Aljamaine Sterling. The title was taken away from the Russian boxer due to disqualification. He held the UFC interim bantamweight title from October 2021 to April 2022. Ian is currently ranked third in the UFC lightweight rankings.
