A few days ago, Russian MFA Press Spokesperson Maria Zakharova, answering the question of journalist and political commentator Hayk Khalatyan, said that they are closely following the situation around "Electric Networks of Armenia" CJSC and Samvel Karapetyan. "Protecting the interests of Russian business abroad, as you know, is a priority, an absolute priority," Zakharova said and presented some investment details.
In particular, the spokesperson of the Russian Foreign Ministry reminded that in 2017-2023, including infrastructure modernization, the company spent 680 million dollars, and for 2024-2034, investments of 795 million dollars were planned. According to the information of "Past" newspaper, this reference has caused considerable concern to the authorities.
First, according to our sources, they are confident that the said question was prepared, because Zakharova's patakhans were extremely prepared. The authorities believe that he could not have simply acquired such investment information "on the fly", that is, he had a pre-prepared reference at hand.
On the other hand, Zakharova spoke emphatically respectfully about Samvel Karapetyan.
