The Trump administration is working on a UN Security Council resolution that plans to deploy multinational forces in the Gaza Strip to maintain a cease-fire brokered by Washington, CNN reported, citing its source.
According to him, the details of the creation of temporary security forces are being discussed, the tasks of which will be the demilitarization of the Gaza Strip and the training of new Palestinian police forces.
The source added that US troops will not be part of these security forces inside the Gaza Strip, but will perform a "coordinating function" outside the enclave. It is noted that the preliminary versions of the resolution have already been distributed to the UN
Among the other members of the Security Council.
On October 9, Israel and Hamas, with the mediation of Egypt, Qatar, the US and Turkey, agreed to implement the first phase of the peace plan presented by Trump. The cease-fire outlined by the US president came into force in Gaza on October 10.
