The Prosecutor's Office received the report on the crime submitted by "Hayakve" regarding the seizure of Hovhannavank and processed it in accordance with the law. This was reported to the media by the prosecutor's office.
Let's remind that today the "Hayakve" initiative submitted a report on the crime regarding the occupation of Hovhannavank to the prosecutor's office, demanding to initiate criminal proceedings in accordance with articles 209 and 441 of the RA Criminal Code.
"Nikol Pashinyan, exceeding his powers and abusing them, interfered in the activities of the Armenian Apostolic Holy Church, which was manifested by his regular calls to "free the cathedral from the current Catholicos", as well as the subsequent calls to visit Hovhannavank and participate in the mass unauthorized by the church.
During that ritual, violence was used against the faithful followers of the church, against the priests, whose entry was forbidden, the law enforcement system was used to kidnap the priests, to deny their entry. All this in combination is equal to occupying Hovhannavank. The Mother See is a victim, because the monastery complex belonging to it was seized, used for non-purpose, and the religious rights of believers were violated," Avetik Chalabyan said.
