Armenia supported the resolution of the UN General Assembly, which calls for an end to the economic embargo imposed by the United States on Cuba.
It should be noted that the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution for the 33rd time, calling on the USA to cancel the sanctions against Cuba. 165 countries supported the resolution to end the economic, commercial and financial embargo imposed by the United States against Cuba. Only seven countries voted against, 12 abstained. Hungary, Israel, Argentina, Ukraine and the United States are among those voting against.
The US severed diplomatic relations with Cuba in 1961 in response to the island nation's nationalization of American property. In 1962, Washington declared a trade and economic embargo on Cuba.
Since 1992, every year Cuba submits to the UN General Assembly a draft resolution on the need to cancel the US embargo. The vast majority of member countries of the international organization always vote "for" the document.
