Trump hopes to quickly resolve the Afghan-Pakistani crisis

US President Donald Trump expects to resolve the Afghan-Pakistani crisis "very quickly", the Associated Press reports.

Afghanistan and Pakistan began the second round of talks in Istanbul on Saturday to conclude a peace agreement and develop a common strategy to promote peace and stability in the region.

"I heard that Pakistan and Afghanistan have started (negotiations) again. But I will solve this issue very quickly," Trump said on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit in Malaysia.

He made this statement during the signing of the peace agreement between Thailand and Cambodia, adding that the leaders of Pakistan are "wonderful people".
