US President Donald Trump has stated that he maintains a good relationship with businessman Elon Musk, despite the tension that arose after the billionaire's departure from the president's team.
"Everything is fine with Elon. I like Elon. I have always loved him. He's a good guy and a very capable guy," Trump told reporters on his plane to Japan, as the conversation was broadcast on the White House's YouTube channel.
The president said that he is in contact with Musk from time to time. Trump also noted that the billionaire "passed through a difficult period" in his life.
After Musk left government service, he and Trump clashed publicly on social media on June 5.
