The upcoming visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to India is of great importance for the development of partnership between the two countries.
This opinion was expressed by the former First Deputy Minister of External Affairs of India and the current member of the upper house of Parliament, Harsh Vardhan Shringla, answering the question of TASS within the framework of the conference dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the strategic partnership between India and Russia held at the Vivekananda International Foundation.
"This is a very important and significant visit. I am sure that we will have many achievements that will be announced during this visit," he said. Shringla believes that "Putin's visit to India will be very significant from the point of view of the development of bilateral relations".
According to the parliamentarian, India and Russia "have come a long way together".
"Today, these relations are characterized by trust, friendship, cooperation and mutual respect," he said, noting also the strong economic partnership and extensive cooperation in the fields of defense, space and energy.
