Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has called on the Gaza Strip to reunite with the West Bank, creating a united state, in the Eastern Jerusalem capital, Arab and international support.
"Sovereignty to the Gaza Strip belongs to the Palestinian state, and its connection to the West Bank must be restored through the Palestinian laws and state institutions," the statement said.
According to him, the Palestinian Administrative Committee created by the government in Ramallah is "ready to take control of the Gaza Strip, based on the joint powers of the Palestinian security."
Abbas highly assessed the efforts of US President Donald Trump and all mediators to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, to expand the possession of Israeli troops from Gaza and expanding humanitarian assistance to the population and expand the exchange of prisoners.
"I hope that these efforts will be a prelude to political settlement, which will end the Israeli occupation and lead to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on June 4, 2006," Abbas said.
