Legendary goalkeeper Roman Berezovsky was not included in the coaching headquarters of the new head coach of the Armenian national team Yeghishe Melikyan. This was announced on August 28, when the Football Federation of Armenia officially published the names of specialists involved in the coaching staff. In this connection, Sputnik Armenia spoke with Roman Berezovsky, which until recently, the coach of the goalkeepers of the team.

In addition to Yeghishe Melikyan, his assistants Aghvan Ayvazyan and Roman Monarevi, goalkeeping coach Stepan Demirchyan, as well as physical training coach Javier Minyano.

"There is nothing special to comment. Yes, I will not include the new coaching staff of the team. There are no comments on this. And my wish is that the team will show a good game in the upcoming and next matches and achieve a positive result, "said the former goalkeeper of the Armenian national team.

Yeghishe Melikyan was appointed head coach of the team on August 6. The 46-year-old specialist was approved by the members of the FFA Executive Committee. The contract with him was signed until November 2026. After Melikyan's appointment, the long-term career of the team Varazdat Haroyan stated at the team's career.

The Armenian national team will start the training camp on September 1 at the Football Academy.

On September 6, the Armenian national team will receive the Portuguese team within the framework of the 2026 qualifying round of the world. On September 9, Yeghishe Melikyan's students will compete with the Irish team again in Yerevan.
