The EU has accused TIKTOK

The European Commission has accused the TIKTOK social platform, will violate the requirements of the EU Digital Services Act. The main task is the lack of transparency of advertisements. Tiktok, according to the EU, does not provide the necessary information on the content of the advertising, targeted users and payers. According to the law, BYTANCE can be fined up to 6% of its world circulation for such a violation.

EU Commissioner for Technology Henna Virklet has stated that "transparency of online advertising is a key tool for protection of public interest." Tiktok, in turn, countered that he agrees with the main goals of the rules, but does not share some comments and format of the commission, Reuters reports.

Tiktok is also under a separate investigation into risks management. The company may demand to consider the documents of the commission and submit a written answer before the final decision is made.
