At the May 12 specialist, the NA Standing Committee on May 12 discussed the amendments to the Code on Administrative Offenses in the second reading. Deputy Chairman of the Commission Babken Tunyan said that the government submitted proposals on the draft law adopted in the first reading.
The RA Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan reminded that since January 1, 2024, the requirements of the Customs Union of Customs Union have been operating on the "Table Procedure of Tobacco Products". According to them, there should be images with graphic warnings on tobacco products that will inform consumers about the danger of smoking. The Minister noted that in 2024, a number of producers and Importers did not comply with the requirements of their products in the market, and they preferred to pay 400,000 drams, which was unjust competitive conditions for conscientious businesses.
Gevorg Papoyan said that the government proposes to tighten the settings. In particular, it is proposed to make the production or import of tobacco products or tobacco products that do not comply with the requirements of technical regulations in Armenia. With the draft law adopted in the first reading, it was appointed one percentage of the producer and the income preceding this offense.
The next proposal refers to the substantive of tobacco products or tobacco products that do not correspond to the requirements of technical regulations, and the sale of sales in Armenia. The government is proposed to set the fine amount to the seller's six hundred-free wage in the amount of six hundred. It should be noted that in the draft law adopted in the first reading, it was designed to the seller of seven hundred times the minimum wage.
The commission gave a positive conclusion to the recent bill submitted in the second reading.
