Lukashenko signed amnesty law in Belarus

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed a law on holding amnesty in the country on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War. The amnesty is expected to connect to almost 8,000 convicts, the press service of the President of Belarus reports.

"President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko has signed a law on the 80th anniversary of the victory in the Great Patriotic War. On the eve of the Great Victory Day, the adoption of this law in Belarusian society is a manifestation of humanity, which seeks to recall the culprits, "the statement said.

It is emphasized that according to preliminary estimates, the amnesty will apply to almost 8,000 convicts.
