Pakistan has closed its airspace for 48 hours, which has stopped all internal and international flights, Samaa reports.
According to aviation sources, Islamabad International Airport is closed to all flights, and all incoming and outgoing flights have been forwarded to Karachi Airport. SAUDI AIRLINES Airline SV-726 flight, which had to land in Islamabad, also changed to Karachi.
Pakistani authorities have advised passengers not to reach the airport and return home. The Civil Aviation Department informed that the normal flights will resume as soon as the situation will resume.
The exact cause of the closure of the airspace has not been officially published, officials believe that it is part of a wider security event.
