UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres wants to attend the BRICS summit in Kazan. He told Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov about this, TASS reports. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova spoke about the plans of the UN Secretary General. According to her, Guterres announced his intentions to attend the BRICS summit during a meeting with Lavrov.
The dialogue between the UN Secretary General and the Russian Foreign Minister took place on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.
The BRICS summit will be held in Kazan on October 22–24. More than 30 states will take part in it.
Earlier it became known that the Afghan authorities were going to participate in the BRICS summit. The Taliban* have already sent an application.
