Lebanese President General Joseph Aun has sent a message on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide.
In his message, the Lebanese President stressed that commemoration of the Genocide anniversary is not just a memory of a painful historical event, but reaffirms the basic values of justice, human rights and human dignity.
"It reminds the world of violence, extremism, and all forms of isolation," Aun said. President Aun reaffirmed Lebanon's unshakable solidarity with the Armenian people in his peaceful struggle to preserve these principles.
He also praised the introduction of Armenian citizens of Armenian origin, emphasizing their long-term and constructive role in Lebanese political, economic, cultural and artistic life.
"They have always been an integral part of Lebanon's diverse and abundantly intertwined identity," said Aun.
Concluding his statement, the President said: Let all the victims of the Armenian Genocide rest in peace, all the victims of injustice and aggression around the world. May God be guarded Lebanon and his people from all evil. "
