Garik Karapetyan, two double champion of Europe, Simon Martirosyan, vice-champion


109 kg weightlifting men in the European Weightlifting Championships took place at the European Weightlifting Championships in Chisinau, where the champion's struggle between the two representatives of Armenia, Garik Karapetyan and Simon Martirosyan. Garik Karapetyan was awarded the title of the champion for the second time, with a result of 411 kg of doubles. Two double champion of the world and Europe, double vice-champion of the Olympic Games, with a result of 406 kg of doubles, won a silver medal this year.

Simon Martirosyan was the first to fight in the snatch. After reviewing the approach of 176 kg, the referees did not comment. With the second approach, Martirosyan tried to raise 181 kg, but failed. This weight of our weightlifter tore the third approach, earning a small silver medal.

Garik Karapetyan failed to raise the 180-kg weightlifter with the first approach, but the next two approaches made a very confident, 180 kept 185 kg. Karapetyan won the small gold medal.

The push exercise began our weightlifters successfully. Garik Karapetyan pushed 212 kg, Simon Martirosyan, 213. Karapetyan's second approach was also successful, 220 kg. Martirosyan pushed 225 kg of second attempt. At the last approach, Karapetyan pushed 226 kg and became a double champion of Europe.
