Until the Constitution of Armenia has changed, it is impossible to sign a peace agreement. Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov stated this in an interview with Turkish Anadolu Agency.
"In the first months of 2022, there were five main points of the peace treaty, and the discussions between the two countries started in October of the same year. The first draft of the peace agreement was the Azerbaijani side and presented Armenia. The talks lasted about two and a half years. One month ago, the discussions were over, an agreement was reached on the text. There are important issues that need to be solved. The most important of these is the existence of "territorial claims" of Azerbaijan in the Constitution of Armenia. As long as it continues, it is impossible to sign a peace agreement. The amendment to the Constitution of Armenia is necessary, "the Azeri official said.
Bayramov added that another condition for Azerbaijan is the liquidation of the Minsk Group.
"The OSCE Minsk Group has been" no results "over 30 years. The Karabakh issue is already "solved", and those territories are part of Azerbaijan. Armenia also recognized it.
