"We encourage people to get a vaccine against measles. The position of the federal government, my position is that people should receive the crown vaccine, "he told CBS News. At the same time, the head of the department noted that "the government should not comply with the vaccinations."
Earlier, US President Donald Trump announced that the authorities would take decisive measures if the situation with measles in the country worsened.
According to the latest data on the US Disease Control and Prevention Center (CDC), 607 cases of measles have been confirmed in more than 20 states since the beginning of the year. Two deaths were registered in the country. In 2024, 285 cases of measles were registered in the United States.
