Lebanon announced an Israeli strike on a Christian area in the north of the country

Israeli Air Force planes for the first time struck the Zgharta area in northern Lebanon, where the predominantly Christian population lives, reports the Lebanese national agency NNA. "For the first time since the beginning of the Israeli aggression (since October 8, 2023 - ed.), military planes struck a building in Aytu, Zgharta area," the agency writes.
Earlier it was reported that a convoy of trucks carrying humanitarian aid came under Israeli airstrikes in eastern Lebanon. Several settlements in the south of the country were also bombed.
Since October 1, Israel has been conducting a ground operation against Hezbollah forces in southern Lebanon and continues aerial bombardment of the neighboring country, where more than 2.3 thousand people have already died, including leaders of the Shiite movement, and more than a million people have become refugees. Despite losses, including in the command staff, Hezbollah is conducting ground battles and does not stop rocket attacks on Israeli territory. The main goal of the military campaign in Israel is said to be the creation of conditions for the return of 60 thousand residents of the north, who were evacuated due to the shelling launched Hezbollah a year ago in support of the Palestinian movement Hamas.
The situation on the Israeli-Lebanese border worsened after the start of Israeli military operations in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.
