Maduro has declared economic emergency in the country

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has announced that an extraordinary economic situation in the country will be announced on Tuesday, related to the trading war announced by the United States.

"Tomorrow I will sign the constitutional decree on the economic emergency to protect the Venezuelan economy," he told Maduro Plus on Monduro Plus.

The Venezuelan leader thinks that "the US government violates world economic rules, destroying international trade and economic law and the World Trade Organization."

He noted that "the collapse of the financial markets has affected the whole world and especially the American people."

Maduro said that Venezuela was "closely following the negative consequences of the trade war to protect the country from all possible negative consequences and to respond to the global economic war."
