"The first session of Gyumri Council of Elders will take place on April 16. That day will be held mayor: 2 candidates will run. Vardan Ghukasyan, nominated by the Communist Party of Armenia, Sarik Minasyan from the CPA. If there is no force majeure, former Gyumri Mayor Vardan Ghukasyan will be elected mayor. The opposition forces overcome the transient threshold have announced its support for Ghukasyan.
Although the CPD does not have enough mandates to hold its candidate, the CPIs stated that Sarik Minasyan will also run. Gyumri Council of Elders has 33 seats. The meeting of the Council of Elders is valid if 17 members of the Council of Elders are present at the sitting. If there are no sessions within two weeks, and the mayor will not be elected, the election of the new snap elections will go with open voting, with individual ballots, on which the voter's name is marked.
