NATO Secretary General Mark Ruten has strongly refused to comment on the customs duties announced by the United States against other members of the bloc.
"My role is to focus on the defense of the NATO territory, so I do not answer any other questions," he said at a press conference on customs duties on customers.
According to him, the discussions in NATO are fully aimed at defending.
"That's why I don't comment on the tariffs," he added. "I think they are separate issues, and we should not allow it to hinder our discussions."
Rutt also expressed doubts that the US trade customs duties on NATO partners would Kechatar Article 2 of the Washington Treaty, which said that all the countries of the Alliance should help improve each other's economic well-being.
