Hungary has set a condition for Ukraine to create a buffer zone

In the future, Ukraine will be able to become a buffer zone between Russia and the European Union with only a clear settlement and respect for the interests of the interested parties, including Moscow. In an interview with the Financial Times (FT), Hungary's Minister of EU Affairs Janos Bokan said.

"Ukraine can act as a buffer zone only if there is a consensus between global players and what cannot be done in Ukraine, otherwise it will be a conflict zone," he said.

"If the United States or the EU will do something in Ukraine without the approval of Russian President Vladimir Putin, it will be a source of conflict," Boka said.

At the same time, the FT interlocutor noted that there is a need to create such a zone, and Ukraine would be more useful in those abilities without integration into the European defense structure.
