The shot in Idaho will formally become the main form of death penalty on July 1, 2026. This is stated in the text of the bill, which was signed by the Governor of the State Brad Little.
"The legislation provides for the main mechanism of execution, the intravenous application of deadly substance, which can be used if it is impossible for some reason," the document reads in the explanatory writing.
The bill will come into force on July 1, 2026, already mentioned as signed documents on the governor's website.
Idaho will become the only US state, where the shooting detachments will be used as the main method of the execution of criminals. In the United States, there are only five states where this type of punishment is allowed, but according to the American Degree Information Center, one of them is not the main foundation.
