The US National US Department of Transportation (NTSB) has demanded that Ronald Reagan Washington Airport (DCA) have immediately amended to be made to air traffic police station (DCA), ABC News reports.
"NTSB recommends the Federal Aviation Department (FAA) forever banned flights from helicopters at the Reagan Airport, as well as to determine an alternative route for pilots," said NTSB President Jennifer Homend.
In response, US Minister of Transport Sean Dafi said that the ban on flights invested after the disaster will remain in force.
According to the NTSB data cited by the TV channel, more than 15,000 incidents took place in the airport, when the distance between aircraft and helicopters did not exceed 122 meters high and 1.85 kilometers. In 85 cases, the vertical distance was less than 61 meters.
On January 29, Ronald Reagan Washington Airport, American Airlines Bombardier Crj700 Regional Airlines collided with Sikorsky H-60 (Black Hawk) military helicopter on landing.
