The CISP statement on Armenian captives in Azerbaijan
Criminal cases against former leaders captured by the Artsakh Republic continue in the Baku Military Court. From them, his lawyer was reported by Ruben Vardanyan's health and torture, which has not yet been allowed to visit the client.
Fewer information about other captives is not even necessary to assess the degree of psychological and physical suffering.
The Armenian Center for Political Rights draws attention to the context of political persecution against the former leadership of Artsakh. Hatred against Armenians in Azerbaijan is systemic and is common among school textbooks [2] to the policy of state officials and the President of the country. Armenians in Azerbaijan are more often from groups of hate speech [4] and no steps or development have been made to improve this situation.
According to Freedom House, in terms of the protection of political and civil rights, Azerbaijan occupies one of the lowest horizons in the world.
The gross violations of the judicial rights are many at all stages of the investigation, even against their own citizens, and the criminal proceedings are abused for political purposes. In terms of non-fulfillment of the decisions of the European Court, Azerbaijan is the leader of the member states of the Council of Europe.
It was recently known that the Azerbaijani authorities are going to stop the activities of the International Committee of the Red Cross in the country, which has already been approved by the Committee's representative.
Those who have the right to self-determination are more inhumane. One of the events of such an attitude was Fahraddin's prison prison for the Talish National Movement leader in prison [10] and death on the day of Azerbaijan's military victory. The country's leadership called it "suicide", although Abaszoda announced a short time ago that her life was endangered and could end at any time.
In such conditions, a reasonable person cannot expect that former leaders of Artsakh and other Armenian captives in Azerbaijan can benefit from all, especially the right to a fair trial.
Therefore, the necessary, but not sufficient condition should be the just pressures of international and human rights organizations, as well as the human rights states on the political leadership of Azerbaijan. However, such pressure can also be outcome if the focus of coordination and strengthening of all efforts is not aimed at the work of the leadership of the Republic of Armenia as the security of its compatriots and citizens.
In the conditions of criticism of Artsakh, it is necessary to take into account that criminal and political persecution against the former leadership of Artsakh is not only the issue of their personal rights. "Blaming" to the native people's genocide and evicting the same actions simply distort everything that has nothing to do with the concepts of "human" and "right" and is based on the purpose of preventing horrific crimes and guarantee the guest of human dignity.
Anyone who will accept political persecution as a "fair trial" as a loud or default.
