Former mayor of Gyumri, now mayoral candidate Vardan Ghukasyan and his bodyguard have been released. This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
It should be reminded that they were arrested on suspicion of holding and carrying illegal weapons and ammunition. Announcement was issued on Vardan Ghukasyan's page, which reads:
"This is an act made by the order of the ruling leader of the day to silence the voice of Gyumri. We call on all the people of Gyumri to gather spontaneously at the entrance to the building. "
It should be reminded that on March 30 the Council of Elders elections will be held in Gyumri, which also applied to the participation of Vardan Ghukasyan.
