By the decision of the Yerevan Council of Elders, all elderly people registered in Yerevan who have reached the age of 100 will receive 1,000,000 drams in support as a thank you for their lifelong work, dedication, and valuable contribution to our society, Yerevan Mayor Tigran Avinyan wrote.
“Today we visited Grandma Nunik, who has worked as a teacher for years and has dedicated most of her life to children’s education. She has 4 children, 11 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren, who are her greatest pride.
Then we visited Grandma Sisambar, who has dedicated her life to people’s health, working as a nurse. Today she is surrounded by her beloved large family, including 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
Caring for the elderly is an integral part of our policy, and we will continue to take steps for their well-being,” the mayor wrote.
