Initially, no meetings were planned at the White House, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said, referring to his visit to the US.
“In the process, an idea arose, a meeting with the Vice President was organized in an unplanned manner. The meeting lasted quite a long time, took place in a 1+3 format, that is, there was no one-on-one conversation. Some members of the delegation participated in the meeting ...,” he said about the meeting with US Vice President James David Vance.
According to Pashinyan, a thorough and detailed conversation took place.
“In a very mixed environment for them, and we highly appreciate that in those conditions, an interest has been formed on both sides to hold such a meeting, and I consider it important and very effective.”
Referring to the document on strategic partnership between the Republic of Armenia and the US, Pashinyan said that it was signed during the transition period, and before that, transition teams were formed during the transfer period. "The nuance now is that the previous administration participated in the signing of the document as much as the next one did. If the new administration didn't want it, it wouldn't have been signed," he said.
According to Pashinyan, there is a dynamic in the quality of Armenia-US relations that must be maintained and developed.
