The Armenian leadership, led by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, intends to make a geopolitical turn towards the West, but understands that there is no real alternative to Russia's security guarantees at the moment. If Pashinyan saw such a prospect, Armenia would have already left the CSTO and severed the bilateral alliance with Russia.
In an interview with Euromedia24, Nikolai Silaev, a Russian internationalist, leading researcher at the Institute of International Studies at MGIMO, director of the Laboratory for Analysis of Political Processes at the Institute of International Studies, expressed this opinion, speaking about the current state of Armenian-Russian relations and the changes taking place in Armenia's foreign policy.

When reminded that on the other hand, Russia is not properly fulfilling its obligations, in particular, Russia has not provided the weapons planned for the 400 million US dollars paid in advance by Armenia, Nikolay Silaev answers without hesitation: "Of course, that's very bad."
