US President Donald Trump has said he would rather make a deal with Iran than engage in a military conflict. "Everybody thinks that Israel is going to bomb Iran with our help or with our approval. I would rather that didn't happen.

I would rather make a deal with Iran that would allow us to inspect Iranian nuclear facilities," he said in an interview with Fox News.

Trump also claimed that Tehran is "worried" and "scared" because its defense capabilities are "almost completely depleted."
