RA Minister of Local Government and Regional Development David Khudatyan visited Stepanavan community of Lori region today to get acquainted with the progress of the work carried out to eliminate the consequences of the fire that occurred in a wooden apartment building in the Ashotaberd district. This was reported by the Ministry of Local Government and Regional Development.
The Minister first toured the district with Governor Aram Ghazaryan and Community Mayor Armen Grigoryan, and also visited the construction site of a new district being built nearby, where the residents of the Ashotaberd district will be moved after the construction is completed.
Construction is currently underway.
Then the Minister visited the hotel where the evacuated residents were accommodated. Khudatyan talked with them and got acquainted with the conditions.
After the tour, a consultation was held in the Stepanavan community hall with the participation of members of the operational headquarters, during which Governor Aram Ghazaryan reported on the work carried out after the fire and the steps taken to meet the needs of the evacuated residents.
At the moment, 29 citizens are accommodated in the hotel. 13 residents are staying at their relatives' houses at their own request. Everyone is provided with food and all necessary supplies.
During the consultation, the minister thanked his colleagues for their effective work and gave a number of instructions on both current and medium-term tasks.
Let us recall that on February 8, at around 4:30 in the morning, a fire broke out in one of the wooden buildings in the Ashotaberd district of Stepanavan. One person died.
