Trump intends to impose 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum

US President Donald Trump has announced that he intends to impose 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports into the country on February 10, Trump told reporters on Air Force One as he departed for New Orleans for the Super Bowl.


"There will be a 25% tariff on steel. And on aluminum as well," he said.


In addition, Trump said that on February 11 or 12, he will announce tariffs on US trading partners that have tariffs on American goods.


"They will go into effect almost immediately," Trump said, speaking of the tariffs on trading partners.
