Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said that US President Donald Trump is talking about his desire to start negotiations with Iran, but at the same time is planning new conspiracies to bring the Islamic Revolution to its knees.
According to the Iranian Mehr news agency, Pezeshkian made this statement during a speech during the celebrations of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution. Pezeshkian criticized the fact that US President Donald Trump has expressed a desire to hold negotiations with Tehran, but at the same time signed a decree to increase pressure on Iran and "bring Iranian oil exports to zero."
"The US can only dream of bringing Iran to its knees," Pezeshkian said. According to President Pezeshkian, Trump claims that Iran undermines regional security, but “the main cause of insecurity is Israel, which enjoys US support, which bombs the oppressed people of Gaza, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iran.”
“The US president claims to defend peace and stability, but he is defending a criminal who has been convicted by international organizations,” Pezeshkian said, referring to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is under arrest by the International Criminal Court.
The document signed by US President Donald Trump on February 4 is intended to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons and intercontinental ballistic missiles, destroy Iran’s “terrorist network,” and launch a campaign to zero out Iran’s oil exports.
