The office of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan has released a statement regarding the activities and expenditures of the USAID office in Armenia only for 2024.
According to the office's report, as a result of the amendment to the grant agreement between the Republic of Armenia and the United States signed in September 2024, Armenia will receive $250 million from the framework established for 2024. As of the end of the year, about $110 million was allocated, which was used for 2 grant programs, about $49 million for the "Promoting Democratic Transition", about $61 million for the "Improving Economic Security" grant program.
Accordingly, the $110 million allocated in just a few months at the end of the year was implemented in these areas: the "Promoting Democratic Transition" grant program
• a $6.6 million program was implemented under the rule of law and human rights goal,
• good governance - about $18.9 million,
• political competition and consensus building - about $8 million,• civil society and media - $13.6 million,
• humanitarian assistance - $1 million.
With the funds allocated for the "Improving Economic Security" program, the following were implemented:
• support for private sector productivity - about $29.8 million,
• workforce development - about $3.2 million,
• energy services - about $25.8 million,
• humanitarian assistance - $1 million.
