The "Fact" daily writes:
To be an independent state, it is important to have defensive forces that will be able to maintain the security of the country and prevent hostile attacks.
In addition to external defense, the army is often involved in internal security, supporting emergency management, in case of natural disasters, and other special actions.
On the other hand, the fact that there is a strong army forces play a great role in resolving issues on diplomatic sphere.
A country with a strong army is more influential in the international arena, can protect its interests and prevent political and military pressures.
And there are many cases when through the exhibition of the opportunities of the Armed Forces it was possible to dictate conditions and reach agreements.
This particular circumstance is becoming more pronounced, when the power factor is higher in international relations, and states have begun to invest in army building and pay special attention to defense and military-industrial spheres.
However, army building is not an easy task, it requires a strategic approach, long-term planning, years consistent work and effective resource management. It is more difficult to create a protective system from scratch.
For example, a serious challenge for the newly independent Republic of Armenia was the establishment of the army from the bases.
The Armenian Armed Forces should be established in a rather difficult period, when the Soviet Union lived in the geopolitical field, the collapse period, and an inter-ethnic, territorial war between Armenians and Azeris began in the region.
And if it weren't for the devotion and consistency of the Armenian leadership, we would not only have a formed army, but we would not be able to face external threats and create victories.
We want it or not to accept either one of them or not to be able to love or not to look at the reality. , Seyran Ohanyan, Arkady Ter-Tadevosyan, Mikael Harutyunyan, Gurgen Dalibaltayan, Yuri Khachaturov, etc.
The list of names can be continued for a long time. Naturally, those who have sacrificed their lives for the Homeland have also taken place in those people.
But army building is not static, it should be able to keep efficient over time. And there was time when Armenia had the most efficient armed forces in the region. Of course, we don't say that the army has previously refrained from different shortcomings and vicious morals, but it was a truly strong, efficient army that was the guarantor of both Armenia and Artsakh's security and peace.
And today ... Today we are witnessing the whole process, when our army has been targeted for years after the 2018 change of government.
It was within the framework of this, that the current authorities began a series of criminal prosecution against figures and officers who were in the basis of army building or made a great contribution to the development of the army.
And instead of the existing shortcomings, the army was declared the "robe of looting", and the officers were "robbers". On the other hand, we have a situation where military professionalism and experience are not taken into account.
As a result of the army's discrediting, the army service is not only attractive, but also repellent. One of its manifestations is that many professionals do not want to continue their service or are removed from work, and many of the dilutions and conformists are ready to make the instructions of the authorities, make sharp progress.
The undermination of the institutional basis of the army was carried out during the Artsakh war, when the level of the Armed Forces was reduced to the level of volunteer detachments, when it was instructed to form and travel to Artsakh.
On the issue of acquiring armaments and applying the authorities, the authorities also looked into the fingers. As a result, we had times when our weapons were without missiles, it was not agreed and unable to solve a problem.
That's what the spine of the army that created victories was broken.
