In 2023 in May, HayaVote presented a draft law for public support, which contained two key points: the first provided criminal responsibility for recognizing Artsakh as part of another state, and the second, similar criminal responsibility for refusing international recognition of the Armenian Genocide.
Avetik Chalabyan, the co-founder of the "HayaVote" national civil union, wrote about this on his page.
In particular, he noted: "We clearly understood that these two issues are closely connected and that the current administration will try to advance the Turkish agenda in both issues, because it submissively serves the interests of Turkey in the region.
In the first issue, it consistently led to the surrender and depopulation of Artsakh, and now, a year and a half later, it no longer hides that it was going for it from the beginning, apparently to get rid of Russian influence, but in fact, to fulfill its political obligations to Turkey.
Now the regime has started to fulfill its next obligation to Turkey: not only to refuse the international recognition of the Armenian Genocide, but also to question its very existence in general, to try to place the blame on the victims of the Genocide, to regularly raise the absurd question of how the Armenian Genocide entered the political arena. agenda, to whom it was beneficial, and so on.
This has a very simple purpose: to prepare the Armenian society to live under the domination of Turkey, and in the future, to disintegrate in it. According to that logic, it is necessary to deepen the victim's complex in the Armenian society, to deprive him of his historical memory and resistance.
This was done before with the Armenian population of Turkey, most of which are no longer afraid to admit out loud that they are Armenians, forced to convert to Islam, and act as Kurds, Alevis or Hamshens, but not as Armenians.
Turkey is also preparing the same for the Armenian population of Armenia, which is the last great collective political unit of the Armenians, and is capable of showing organized resistance to the ambitious Turkish plans to create the Great Turan.
Today we are faced with a historical dilemma, beyond which our very right to remain Armenian will be questioned.
It is done in small steps, each time trying to remove another part of our identity from our consciousness, and gradually turn us into rootless, historyless and uncultured nomads.
The subject "History of the Armenian Apostolic Church" has been removed from our schools, Armenian history is replaced by the history of Armenia, an attempt is made to remove the biblical Ararat from our coat of arms, erase Artsakh from our memory, and so on. All this is not a series of coincidences, but a deeply thought-out, well-calculated, brutal plan to depopulate Armenia.
We must resist that monstrous plan and its perpetrators every day, at every step, every time they try to deprive us of our memory, our heritage, our natural right to be Armenians.
It will not work for you, no matter how much you kill yourself, no matter how much you try to deceive people, no matter how much you try to numb their consciousness, your poison will poison you, and our people will come out of all this even more conscious, united and determined.
You will be judged not only by history, but also by human judgment, and that day is steadily approaching.
