"Zhoghovurd" daily writes:
"The issue of Armenia's EU membership is still uncertain, but today the draft law of the extra-parliamentary forces "On the initiation of the process of accession of the Republic of Armenia to the European Union" will be discussed at the session of the Standing Committee on European Integration.
"Zhoghovurd" daily informed that NA deputies, representatives of the initiative group will take part in the discussion. According to "Zhoghovurd" daily, CP members intend to give a "green light" for the further course of the initiative, giving a positive conclusion to it.
Months ago, Nikol Pashinyan was strongly against the referendum, but now, in fact, they are in completely different moods. And what is the reason for this drastic "change of character" of the CP members? in the face of extra-parliamentary forces that initiated this process.
The point is that Pashinyan has already calculated that in case of any outcome of the elections, his satellite extra-parliamentary forces may be needed and he does not want to antagonize them by rejecting the initiative.
In addition to this, the other calculation of the government is that, especially after the war, the views of most of our public are directed towards Europe and starting this election process will strengthen their positions.
