In accordance with the requirements of parts 3 and 4 of Article 28 of the Law, compulsory military servicemen of rank and file are granted basic leave once during their service, in the case of not less than five months of calendar service, servicemen with the military rank of private - 10 calendar days, and to servicemen with a military rank of junior non-commissioned officer, for a period of 15 calendar days, as well as the time needed to travel to and from the place of vacation, up to two calendar day for the total period.
According to the Ministry of Defense, without separating ranks, the increase in the period of leave given to servicemen in compulsory military service, the valorization of the military oath ceremony through the provision of additional leave will have a significant impact on the attractiveness of military service, the strengthening of the morale and psychological state of servicemen and discipline.
At the same time, in order to value compulsory military service in border military units, it became necessary to set a longer period of basic leave for servicemen undergoing compulsory military service there, on the basis of which it is proposed to grant basic leave to regular compulsory servicemen during service for a total of 21 calendar days, and the Minister of Defense to those serving in the military units defined by the order, for a total period of 30 calendar days, providing them in three equal parts during the service, to leave to and from the place of vacation provision of two calendar days for return and additional leave of two calendar days in connection with taking the military oath.
In addition, in the law of 2024 On January 16, with the additions made by the law HO-23-N, the obligation to undergo compulsory military service for a period of 12 months was also established for RA dual citizens who received RA citizenship after the age of 27 and who had not completed military service in a foreign country before reaching the age of 37. as well as citizens who have avoided conscription and have reached the age of 27 have been given the opportunity to undergo compulsory military service at their own will and by paying the appropriate amount of money, again until Turning 37 years old, in connection with which it became necessary to regulate the period of basic leave given to servicemen undergoing compulsory military service for a period of 12 months.
In the law of 2022 According to the regulations made by the law HO-289-N of July 7, 2022.
