The G7 countries demanded quick aid to the Gaza Strip

Leaders of the Group of Seven (G7) welcome the conclusion of a deal between Israel and Hamas on the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip and the establishment of a ceasefire in the enclave, therefore, they demand that the parties ensure the access of humanitarian aid to the affected areas quickly and unhindered.

This was stated on Thursday in the statement of the unofficial club of countries, which includes Great Britain, Germany, Italy, Canada, the USA, France and Japan.

"We, the leaders of the G7, fully support and will continue to support the ceasefire agreement reached between Israel and Hamas," the document says.

"We demand that all parties to the agreement ensure the safe, rapid and unimpeded passage of humanitarian aid and ensure the protection of civilians, including humanitarian workers."

The Group of Seven called on Israel and Hamas to "ensure the full implementation of the agreement and ensure a permanent cessation of hostilities."
